AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION

Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF),a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, is a global organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to more than 420,000 patients in 36 countries. AHF is the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S. A truly independent voice in their mission to rid the world of AIDS, AHF’s operating capital comes from their self-created social enterprises. AHF Pharmacies, thrift stores, healthcare contracts and other strategic partnerships generate funding that helps AHF provide medical and advocacy services across the globe.

 

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization. Its purpose is to help prevent America’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers, heart disease and stroke. The AHA is an advocate of good health, promoting positive behaviors, nutritious eating habits and healthy lifestyles. It also funds cutting-edge research and professional education programs.

 

BET-RAP IT UP

Rap It Up has been educating the African-American community about HIV/AIDS and sexual health since 1998. The long-running BET campaign, which is supported by the Kaiser Family Foundation, includes PSAs, documentaries and entertainment programming, community events, and forums at high schools and colleges that have attracted more than 25,000 young participants across the United States and the Caribbean.

 

PLANNED PARENTHOOD

Planned Parenthood Federation of America or often just Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization which provides reproductive health and maternal and child health services.

 

THE BLACK AIDS INSTITUTE

Founded in May of 1999, the Black AIDS Institute is the only national HIV/AIDS think tank focused exclusively on Black people. The Institute’s Mission is to stop the AIDS pandemic in Black communities by engaging and mobilizing Black institutions and individuals in efforts to confront HIV. The Institute interprets public and private sector HIV policies, conducts trainings, offers technical assistance, disseminates information and provides advocacy mobilization from a uniquely and unapologetically Black point of view.[/fusion_text][/three_fifth]
